Ali Pitchay Road

Ipoh downtown was designed like a chessboard, where majority of New Town & Old Town is having straight roads interweaving each other. Nonetheless there are some curving streets. If we check the map of downtown, there are obviously two narrower curve streets appear almost in parallel, it's Ali Pitchay Road & Che Tak Road. Along Ali Pitchay Road, there are many travel agencies & budget hotels concentrated here. Although located in the city center, the street is not congested during day and night.

  1. Hi Chun Kee, nothing much changes for this street. It was just like in those days in 70s and 80s when I used to walk along this street on my way to school at MGS Jalan Kampar. Looking at it again today brought back some nostalgic feelings. Thanks for that and have a nice weekend.

  2. Yes, sweet memories... :-)

I also used to hang around here during 80's because my aunt (and my family before i born) was staying above Khong Brothers Tours & Travel. The orange color shop at left of this photo was having giant posters of a famous milk product brand (can't remember, is it Milkmaid?) behind the ground floor glass window & it's truck used to park beside this shop.

One more spot of difference is the building at "Take A Break" billboard was a disco pub called "Apple Jam". Sounds like evrything just happened yesterday :-)
