Demonstration at State Secretariat Building

A demonstration was held in front of the State Secretariat Building this morning by Pakatan Rakyat. I can imagine such activities will become often in Ipoh for some time. Although we know there won’t be turning point for the previous government to restore power from Barisan Nasional but this issue will be carried forward to the next general election. At night, leader of the three component parties of Pakatan Rakyat gathered at Chief Minister Residence for another seminar (I didn’t manage to get in, therefore couldn’t publish any photo). All nearby roads had been closed & serious traffic congestion hit the city. As reported by media, the seminar had attracted a crowd of 5,000-7,000.

Ipoh, the capital city of Perak State, Malaysia, is the city that tin built. Located at the famous tin mining area, Kinta Valley, it used to be the world's largest tin mine since 19th century. Today, Ipoh has grown to cover a large area including the neighboring township such as Bercham, Tasek, Jelapang, Menglembu, Pengkalan, Simpang Pulai & Chemor. The city is still developing continuously while maintains its beauty of nature and harmony.
