Morning Rays

I caught a sun rise again this morning although the atmosphere is not so clear. Anyway, it is not always able to capture the rays like this photo.

Changing Atmosphere

Every year during this season, weather becomes warmer. Open burning happens everywhere, from cities, villages to farms. It could be massive open burning domestically and in neighboring county that often causing hazy atmosphere for months. However it would also depend on the wind blowing direction. The hazy weather started since few weeks ago but it turns clear on and off. Just like this morning, the sun shining directly onto the ground. A bright reflection from glass window is seen. However, the sky become blur again in the afternoon. I am wondering when will this bad practice stopped and claim our fresh air back.

Coffee Shop Keepers Association

For years, many Chinese in Malaysia are running business in small skill. Each kind would have its own association to coordinate & maintain the benefit & welfare of members. There are associations of hawkers, taxi drivers, butchers, tailors, school bus service, etc. This association of coffee shop keepers is something not in my mind but it is, in fact, one of the most popular small businesses in Malaysia. Most of these associations were formed about 30~40 years ago, where the economy growth began to pick up in this country.

Fish Bone in the Sky

Beautiful Sunset

I like sunset because it always appear to be colorful. Anyway, the best scene normally last only few minutes and the colors just disappear in the darkness.

Hot Spot in the Past

Jubilee Park was the hottest amusement center of Ipoh in 1970’s. There were games center, disco, cinemas, etc. During those years, Shaw Brothers was very famous with its Chinese movies which hosted by popular Hong Kong & Taiwan stars. Nowadays, Jubilee Park is almost being forgotten by Ipoh citizens due to the rise of modern shopping complexes.

Downpour in the Morning

Dark cloud was covering almost the whole city this morning. The hazy atmosphere since last is totally being washed away by the heavy rain. The sky turn become crystal clear in the afternoon that make me feel so good & fresh even standing under the hot sun :-)

Cheroh Hill at Night

Cheroh Hill is the lime stone hill that nearest to the city center, which is just a mile away from the State Secretariat Building. It is the only lime stone hill shined with light at night. The cave at its bottom houses a Taoism temple which is commonly seen in Ipoh.

Syariah Court

I usually choose Maxwell Road (Jalan Tun Abdul Razak) as part of the route on my journey to work. However, it just came to my mind to take the smaller road off Maxwell Road this morning when driving to work. The Islam Syariah Court building is now in front of me, which I normally just pass by and did not really looking onto it. In fact this can be considered a landmark building along Maxwell Road beside the historical building of Education Department, which is just a mile away.

My Fellow Trees

These trees are just so ordinary, you may wonder why I am capturing it. Well, it grown up together with me!! This is the playground in front of my home, where my parents still staying in. I was born and grown up here. My family moved in a year before I was born, so I am as old as these trees J. Every year, all the leaf on these trees would fall at certain period. I always imagine it is the autumn scene in four-season country.

Tun Razak Library

I am sure almost all Ipoh citizen familiar with this city library, Tun Razak Library. Being the main public library since 1970’s, Tun Razak Library is a popular place for kids and students. I did spend my study time here during the Pre-U (STPM) years. The library was only a 2 storey building until its expansion with an additional 6-storey block in 1990’s.

Glamour Square

I feel sorry that I have not updated with new photos for about a month. It was really busy with the factory work. Anyway, even the peak of workload has not phased out, I decided to spend some time every day on sharing my daily photos in Ipoh.


It has been quite some time I did not come to Bercham visiting my parents and brother. By taking this opportunity of leaving office earlier today, I drive to Bercham. It seems a new commercial building, Glamour Square comes to completion and start operation. However, only few units started business as of now.
